Clarifying uncertainties: helping companies navigate disclosure requirements

On 19 December 2025, the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board published "Disclosures about Uncertainties in the Financial Statements" which consists of six illustrative examples ("Examples").  These Examples are identical to the "Disclosure about Uncertainties in the Financial Statements" issued by the International Accounting Standards Board.

These Examples do not change requirements in the standards but show how an entity discloses uncertainties in its financial statements. Although the Examples are climate-related, the principles in the Examples can be applied to other uncertainties.

The Examples do not have an effective date, but entities might consider the application for December 2025 year-ends. Read our Snapshot to find out more.
