"Intense demand for technology, and for digital and data-driven assets, compounded with the pent-up deal-making demand from 2020 has seen record levels of M&A activity globally in 2021. In Malaysia, M&A activity trailed behind the global curve, though there have been a number of noteworthy deals made in the last year. In the year ahead, assets and skills to meet digitalisation and environmental targets will continue to drive deal-making activities. However, volatility in financial markets and macroeconomic headwinds may present challenges. Robust plans and acting quickly will be crucial for M&A value creation."
